Another Family Reunion in the books! Families, mentors, and facilitators had a blast competing in yard games like kickball, sack races, tug-of-war, and corn hole. As a special treat, the Kona Ice truck stopped by so everyone could cool off after all of the competition fun. To add to the special moments of this spring reunion, our families were thrilled to receive their family portraits that were captured a few weeks ago.

For dinner, we had delicious burgers and hotdogs courtesy of one of our teen mentors, PJ Shippey. Not only did his business, Georgia Farm Bureau, supply all of the meats, he also did all of the grilling! He is a jack of all trades, and we are lucky to have him be part of our Team Up family.

Check out what he had to say about his time with Team Up!

Mentor Spotlight

“I heard about Team Up and the awesome things they were doing for kids from several people throughout the community. I reached out to get more information and instantly knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. One of the things I love about Team Up is they don’t just offer temporary help. They provide long-term relationships built on love and trust in an environment that is safe and nonjudgmental. I have thoroughly enjoyed mentoring this semester with Team Up. When the kids come in the door and share something going on in their lives - whether it’s good or bad - you know you are making a difference.” — PJ Shippey
