At Team Up Mentoring, our mission is to foster generational change for children and families significantly affected by trauma. That looks like providing support and empowering our children and families over the long-term. Our core values—Curiosity, Kindness, Bravery, Excellence, and Consistency—are the bedrock of our approach. They guide our interactions, shape our programs, and ensure we provide the best possible support to those we serve.

In our past blogs, you read about how we use consistency and curiosity to guide our everyday actions here at Team Up Mentoring. Continue reading on how we do the same with excellence.

Excellence at Team Up means you can count on us to do what needs to be done, completely, every day. We are committed to the small tasks that, over time, lead to larger successes. Our dedication to excellence ensures that every interaction, every program, and every effort is infused with great love and attention to detail. By striving for excellence, we demonstrate to our families that they are worthy of the highest quality support and care.

A shining example of excellence here at the Team Up office is an intern turned employee, Regan.

As the Program assistant, Regan not only helps our Program Directors to prepare for mentoring nights, summer camps and family engagement nights – she is also our Transportation Coordinator. This is a BIG responsibility  here at Team Up because transportation is critical to our families being able to attend our programs. From coordinating drivers' schedules and managing daily route changes, to problem-solving when a van gets a flat tire or if a bus goes out of commission, she's constantly juggling a particularly tricky job.

Despite all of this, Regan does the job with excellence. She communicates with caregivers with compassion and understanding, she can tell you a driver’s schedule off of the top of her head, and she even drives the routes to ensure the Team Up bus can make it in and out easily. While all of that might sound small, it is the little details like those that ensure that kids are on the bus and have the opportunity to come to Team Up each week.

These core values are not just words for us at Team Up Mentoring—they are principles that guide our daily actions and decisions. They ensure that we not only meet the immediate needs of our children and families but also foster long-term growth and resilience. Through our unwavering commitment to these values, we aim to create a community where every child and family can thrive.
